Narrative:
After starting the morning arrival push in a north configuration (runway's 36L; 36R; and 27); the decision was made to turn the airport around (runways 18R & left). In this south configuration; if we use runway 18L and runway 27; we are supposed to use converging runway display aid (crda); which allows us to slightly stagger the runway 27 arrival so that the runway 18L arrival is not over runway 27 when the runway 27 arrival is on the runway. During the transition to the south configuration; we ran aircraft to 18R and 27 with some of the aircraft going to 27 being heavies. The west final controller said that he had been briefed that when using 18R and 27; there were to be no heavy jets to runway 27. I was working the east final controller position and said that I had never had that briefing. My first aircraft was tagged for 18R and there were a string of heavy jets lined up for 27. I asked the supervisor if my co-worker was correct about no heavy jets to runway 27 when using runway 18R. The supervisor said not to worry about it as it was 'internal.' I asked again if I could run my plane to 18R with the heavy jets on final for 27. The supervisor said that I could; and I did. Later; when I began receiving traffic for 18L; we still had traffic arriving 27. Generally; this requires us to run crda. I do not believe we were running crda at this time. The east approach controller was advising me of his traffic going to 27;and told me to go behind it. This required me to vector aircraft wide on the base to final when I normally would have vectored them to an angling final. At no time did the supervisor or the operations manager overseeing the operation say anything about this operation. Additionally; heavy jets were still arriving 27. Under our crda order; when we land 18L and 27; while using crda; no heavy jets to 27. When our facility was first forced to use crda; management was not happy. Our facility used to land runway 27 under landing traffic to runway 18L/C. It seems that management does not take crda or the runway's 18L/C & 27 operation seriously; but only as a required inconvenience.
