Narrative:
During final phase of climb; vectoring was given by ATC to avoid areas of heavy precipitation. Use of on board radar & storm scope was operational as well as utilized. From a wings level climb; aircraft rolled over 60 degrees to the left & entered a steep dive while encountering extreme turbulence. I corrected from the unusual attitude and stabilized a climb back toward the assigned altitude of FL340. Corrected situation before ATC called of my deviation. Although the weather was awful; and my route of flight via vectoring from heavy weather; radar and storm scope confirmed; the turbulence was extreme; and perhaps I should have been given a wider berth around the storm(s). No damage. No injuries.

Title: A Citation Pilot reported losing control of his aircraft during an encounter with extreme turbulence. He regained control and continued the flight.
