Narrative:

Approximately 2 hours into our flight the a flight attendant asked to come into the cockpit to discuss an issue with us. She informed the captain and I that she discovered the person occupying the cabin jump seat was not the person on the cabin jumpseat authorization ticket and in fact was not a qualified flight attendant. The a flight attendant felt convinced the person occupying the cabin jump seat had absolutely no idea she was doing anything inappropriate and was sitting in the seat designated to her by the csr. The cockpit crew contacted dispatch and the duty manager. It was determined the passenger was not a security risk and it was determined to be safe to continue. As a precaution the person was asked to go towards the rear of the aircraft whenever the cockpit door was opened. Also the a flight attendant briefed the passenger as to what actions she was to take on landing since she was seated near door 1L. To prevent this from occurring again; perhaps the a flight attendant should verify identification.
