Narrative:
After take off out of chicago departure we noticed on the departure that it said to maintain 250 KTS over the fix we were flight planned over and that we were in fact at 280 KTS. I knew from previous reports from our carrier that pilots were having trouble seeing the 250 KT restriction on the O'hare four departure and sure enough we missed it also. I think the speed restriction box is too small and not conspicuous enough. Perhaps departure needs to confirm the speed for all aircraft going over these fixes? Something needs to be changed in my view as it is very easy to overlook even when you have heard of the problem before.
