Narrative:
On the preflight I found the prop gear box oil panel for the right engine inside the right engine inlet. I removed the panel from the inlet and brought it inside the aircraft to the captain. The captain called dispatch and notified them so they wouldn't wonder about the delay and was transferred to maintenance control. Contract maintenance's poor attention to detail. In our four day trip; contract maintenance had two major issues they caused. First they left the aircraft without signing and dating the corrective action block for an open discrepancy. Second; the propeller gearbox panel was placed and left inside the engine inlet.
