Narrative:
Due to over rich condition and erroneous fuel flow indications; engine began cutting out on right base leg for a landing on the river. The landing was made and the airplane was beached. The cause of the engine cutting out was determined to be low fuel. More fuel was obtained and the aircraft returned to airport. No damage was done to aircraft; personnel or property.

Title: Float plane pilot reports rough engine running while on approach to a water landing. After landing; low fuel is found to be the cause of the rough running. Overly rich mixture and an erroneous fuel flow indications are cited as factors.
