Narrative:
During climb in moderate precipitation and st. Elmo's fire; lost captain's pitot followed shortly by failure of captain's airspeed indicator and the following status messages: captain pitot/fail; lockout/rudder ratio; right and left eec; IAS disagree; auto throttle disconnect. Captain gave aircraft to the first officer as I and the captain went through the QRH. First officer got stick shaker at 220 knots with a handful of out of trim airplane and throttles not at climb power. After that; worked through problems and continued to destination with approval from maintenance control. Three and a half hours into the flight while in VNAV cruise; the wind speed readout increased to 256 knots and the aircraft descended less than 300 feet as we lost 20 knots. Climbed back up and continued in altitude hold and vertical speed. Was on oceanic track at the time.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: B767 Flight Crew experiences Captain's pitot static system failure during climb at FL260. Control of the aircraft is transferred to the First Officer and a momentary stick shaker is experienced. An altitude deviation occurs later in the flight due to sudden wind increase.
