Narrative:

During training flight over waterville (oh) VOR noticed on slight lag between power lever movement and torque response. All engine indications were normal. Decided to fly to flint michigan (maintenance base) for maintenance to check it out. On visual approach to runway 36 left engine automatic-feathered. Carried out engine shut-down procedures and landing without further incident. Did not declare an emergency because we were using flint's CTAF.
