Narrative:
A previous write up concerning engine exceedence was signed off by maintenance at the departure airport. Upon taking the runway for takeoff; a static takeoff technique was used. The hp vibration immediately entered well into the amber range. The power was returned to idle and no takeoff roll was initiated. Aircraft was taxiied back to the gate.

Title: An air carrier aircraft was returned to the gate for maintenance when the high pressure section vibration indications were in the amber range as takeoff power was being set.
