Narrative:
We were given a clearance to cross looth intersection [on the royko three RNAV STAR to ord] at 11000 ft and followed the normal point and verify procedures. Upon crossing boone at approximately 14000 ft; the controller asked if we were given a clearance to cross boone at 11000 ft. I would suggest a change in the intersection names to eliminate the 'oo' sound from two nearby intersections used interchangeably for the same altitude clearance.

Title: A B757-200 flight crew misunderstood the intersection at which ATC wanted them to cross at 11000 FT.
Narrative: We were given a clearance to cross LOOTH intersection [on the ROYKO THREE RNAV STAR to ORD] at 11000 FT and followed the normal point and verify procedures. Upon crossing BOONE at approximately 14000 FT; the Controller asked if we were given a clearance to cross BOONE at 11000 FT.
