Narrative:
During final approach to landing; when gear selected down; the right main gear 'green down and locked' light did not illuminate. Red unsafe also not on. Emergency declared. All four bulbs in gear down indicator burned out. Bulbs replaced with normal gear indication. Uneventful landing.

Title: A MD80 Captain reported that both the Red Gear Unsafe and the Green Gear Down lights did not illuminate when the gear were lowered for landing. An emergency was declared but then canceled after the bulbs were changed and safe indications resulted.
