Narrative:

Refuel valve actuator was installed in right (rt) position which I thought in accordance with the aircraft maintenance manual illustrated parts catalog (ipc) reference figure was the center position. Maintenance records found the error.the aircraft maintenance manual illustrated parts catalog reference figure showed right wheel-well position. Maintenance control had the aircraft stopped and the discrepant part changed. I have suggested the ipc reference figure be updated.

Title: A mechanic installed an A320 refuel valve actuator in the incorrect position based on an incorrect figure in the Illustrated Parts.

Narrative: Refuel valve actuator was installed in right (RT) position which I thought in accordance with the Aircraft Maintenance Manual Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) reference figure was the center position. Maintenance Records found the error.The Aircraft Maintenance Manual Illustrated Parts Catalog reference figure showed right wheel-well position. Maintenance Control had the aircraft stopped and the discrepant part changed. I have suggested the IPC reference figure be updated.
