Narrative:

While joining the localizer for runway 26R; we experienced an aggressive; uncommanded roll to the left and right; [consistent] with wake turbulence. The autopilot was manually disengaged to execute an upset recovery. Power was applied and a course change made to the northwest along with an increase in climb. ATC was notified of our intent to change course to the north and begin an immediate climb. We were sequenced 4 miles behind a 737-700; although; a 757-200 had passed through our intended course being sequenced for runway 27L. It is unclear at this time which aircraft created the wake we encountered. We were resequenced for landing on runway 26R with no further incident. Atl tracon was contacted upon arrival.
