Narrative:

I was advised by the flight manager that we had operated a flight with an expired efb containing old airway and performance data. Although I believe that I checked the dates against the dispatch release; it is possible that I did not recognize the expired condition. To my best recollection the release and efb dates corresponded; but that may have been different than the actual date. I did not recognize the error/series of errors that lead to the occurrence. I suggest that a higher degree of vigilance in an otherwise simple task as well as crosschecking could prevent a recurrence of this event.
