Narrative:
Less than a year ago the FAA was very critical of the cargo pit inspections done by mechanics. Cargo pits were required to be inspected by mechanics on all overnight checks on all aircraft. Many problems were found especially on the airbus. Fast forward to the present and now we are not required to inspect the cargo pits on the overnight checks. A matter of fact unless the ramp determines there is a problem; the only time we check the pits are on 'a' checks or higher.
