Narrative:
Me and my co-worker were changing the #3 brake assembly. We were unaware of the grease seal packing not installed with the brake when we put the brake on. Later that week we questioned whether we had installed the seal. Called maintenance control and had contract maintenance verify the #3 brake assembly was installed correctly. Contract maintenance stated it was not installed.
