Narrative:
Installed new medium large transport (main landing gear) alt (alternate) extension valve brackets per task card. Took measurements with bracket temporally installed before permanently installed. The brackets are being said by the valve installer to be installed 1/2' or 1/4' out. This issue was caught on the second part of the task card where everything is permanently installed. The task card has you take the measurements two times: the first time with the valve temporally installed and the second with everything permanently installed.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A Mechanic reports installing the main landing gear (MLG) new alternate extension valve brackets in the wheel-well of a CRJ-900 aircraft per a Task Card. The bracket was later found not correctly positioned when a valve Installer tried to align the push-pull rods for the valves with a bellcrank. Manual operation of the alternate gear extension would have been affected.
