Narrative:
I was pilot flying. On climb out both trim channels failed. Advised ATC and returned to airport for an overweight landing. The captain made the overweight landing. The aircraft experienced the same problem in previous days. The issue was corrected in the maintenance base and returned to service. I am uncertain of the root cause of the failure.
