Narrative:
During the turn from 40 to 280 heading on the teterboro 6 SID we were given a heading of 320 and I did not engage the heading mode and rolled out on the the charted 280 heading. After about ten seconds we were given direct brezy.

Title: A Lear 45 flight crew suffered a track deviation when they failed to engage the heading mode on the FMS when given a heading different from that published on the Teterboro SID after take off from TEB.
Narrative: During the turn from 40 to 280 heading on the Teterboro 6 SID we were given a heading of 320 and I did not engage the heading mode and rolled out on the the charted 280 heading. After about ten seconds we were given direct BREZY.
