Narrative:
Descending on seavu two arrival into lax. While approaching konzl; I became slightly distracted verifying further crossing restrictions. Although the center autopilot was engaged and LNAV/VNAV captured; autopilot failed to maintain the path. First officer said we were low. I immediately flew the plane manually; but noticed we were 400 ft low over konzl. I re-engaged the autopilot. Again; with LNAV/VNAV captured; the aircraft descended below the path and passed engli 300 ft low before I could take over manually. I continued to hand fly and instructed the first officer to attempt to reset the MCP. The first officer successfully reset the MCP. I reengaged the autopilot and the aircraft was able to comply with all further crossing restrictions. There were no conflicts with any other aircraft.
