Narrative:
I was working arm/arg (finals) combined. A B717 was vectored direct glosi FAF to join final descending to 2;500 ft. The B717 reported airport in sight. I subsequently told the B717 to cross glosi at or above 2;500 ft cleared visual approach to runway 17R. This procedure protects for runway 07 departure off of orl (orlando executive) heading 055 climbing to 1;500 ft. I then noticed a BE36 departure off orl climbing through 1;900 ft. I told the B717 to immediately stop descent at 3;000 ft; which the pilot was able to do. I then advised stn (satellite north position) who was working the BE36 of the situation who in turn told the BE36 to maintain 1;500 ft. The B717 was re-cleared visual approach to runway 17R without incident. Recommendation; evaluate departure and arrival procedures for orlando executive airport as pertains to mco arrival traffic.
