Narrative:
We received taxi clearance to runway 22L at bos: taxiway Z; runway 15R; hold short of runway 22R. When we approached runway 22R on runway 15R; we noticed there was no hold line denoting where to hold short of an active runway with many aircraft departing. On a wide runway such as runway 15R; it would be very easy to miss the runway edge and encroach on runway 22R; or just miss holding short altogether. Since taxiway north is under construction; this has been a common taxi clearance. It is very dangerous to have aircraft hold short of an active runway without any lines depicting the runway hold short line. We then departed on runway 22R. During the takeoff role; about 3000 ft down from brake release; bright white lights came into view. These were the 27 lahso lights that; because of the crown of the runway; are not visible from the end of runway 22L. It is very disconcerting to have white lights emerge visible at the far end of the runway coming at you during the takeoff roll. Why are these lights white; and why aren't they turned off turning departures? It would be very easy to mistake this for an oncoming aircraft and abort the takeoff for no reason.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: An air carrier Captain reported difficulty identifying the 22R hold short point while taxiing on Runway 15R. Then the Runway 27 LAHSO lights were left on bright and became very distracting during the takeoff roll.
