Narrative:
With first officer flying at 7;000 AGL on the korry arrival we encountered what appeared to be wake turbulence which violently upset control of the aircraft. I immediately advised ATC we were in wake turbulence and were climbing a couple of hundred feet. This was acknowledged by ATC. The first officer got us out of the wake and we continued onto lga without further incident.

Title: Regional Jet landing LGA has wake encounter at 7;000 FT from preceding B757 several miles ahead at lower altitude.
Narrative: With First Officer flying at 7;000 AGL on the Korry arrival we encountered what appeared to be wake turbulence which violently upset control of the aircraft. I immediately advised ATC we were in wake turbulence and were climbing a couple of hundred feet. This was acknowledged by ATC. The First Officer got us out of the wake and we continued onto LGA without further incident.
