Narrative:
I pushed an A321 off a gate for reposition to the hangar. Mechanic 'X' was in the left seat; mechanic 'Y' was in the right seat. I then drove to the hangar. When I arrived at hangar; the aircraft was waiting for me at the hangar for a stair-truck to placed on it. I pulled up to the aircraft and parked in front of the aircraft; I saw the nose gear parking brake indicator light was on. I got out of the van and walked to the north wall for a stair-truck. As I pulled up to the l1 (left forward) door; I was guided by mechanic 'Y' who was in the forward galley of the aircraft.I placed the stair-truck on the aircraft and attempted to put the outriggers down and they did not work. After a short delay I found the truck hydraulic pump switch in the 'off' position. I placed it 'on' and lowered the outriggers. I saw mechanic 'Y' come down the stairs but did not see where he went. I got back in the van and went back to terminal gate. Mechanic 'Y' observed the aircraft rolling away. [There was] a failure to chock the aircraft.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A Lead Mechanic and Mechanic report about an A321 aircraft that collided into a hangar door. The aircraft had rolled away from a spot the Airbus was positioned on; after being taxied to the hangar. The parking brake was verified set yet chocks were not placed under nose tires or main tires.
