Narrative:

On downwind to 26L we noticed a rain shower ese of the approach. Turning final we experienced considerable difficulty slowing the aircraft while still east of the shower. Tower reported wind as calm, later 180/4 then 160/6. Some aircraft ahead of us were executing gars. Tower advised one pilot reported a loss of 80 KTS. By this time we were at or just west of the shower about 1100 ft, started our go around. The go around was relative flat and airspeed hard to gain, very choppy. Held north 20-30 minutes and landed itl no problem. In addition tower gave us 7000 ft after our go around and I overshot to 7300 ft and returned to 7000 ft. I believe the effects of the windshear caused this.

Title: ACR LGT ALT DEVIATION OVERSHOT DURING GO AROUND. ACFT MADE GO AROUND BECAUSE OF LOW LEVEL WIND SHEAR AND TSTM ACTIVITY NEAR THE ARPT.

Narrative: ON DOWNWIND TO 26L WE NOTICED A RAIN SHOWER ESE OF THE APCH. TURNING FINAL WE EXPERIENCED CONSIDERABLE DIFFICULTY SLOWING THE ACFT WHILE STILL E OF THE SHOWER. TWR RPTED WIND AS CALM, LATER 180/4 THEN 160/6. SOME ACFT AHEAD OF US WERE EXECUTING GARS. TWR ADVISED ONE PLT RPTED A LOSS OF 80 KTS. BY THIS TIME WE WERE AT OR JUST W OF THE SHOWER ABOUT 1100 FT, STARTED OUR GAR. THE GAR WAS RELATIVE FLAT AND AIRSPD HARD TO GAIN, VERY CHOPPY. HELD NORTH 20-30 MINUTES AND LANDED ITL NO PROB. IN ADDITION TWR GAVE US 7000 FT AFTER OUR GAR AND I OVERSHOT TO 7300 FT AND RETURNED TO 7000 FT. I BELIEVE THE EFFECTS OF THE WINDSHEAR CAUSED THIS.
