Narrative:
Upon receiving taxi instructions; at det; to taxi to runway 33; we were given taxi across runway 25 to runway 33 for departure. Upon crossing runway 25 we were looking for the hold short lines for runway 33. By the time we had realized that we had crossed the hold lines we had already past them. We stopped immediately and talked to ground who also informed us that we crossed them. The hold short lines were very worn and not clearly marked as the paint had faded. There were no other aircraft in the area and no aircraft were on approach for that runway. The flight departed and was completed uneventfully. It would be good to take note upon taxi in to see how well the airport markings are for the taxi out. Make sure if the markings are faded to possibly get a progressive as to not cross any hold short lines.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A Corporate Jet flight crew missed the DET Runway 33 hold short line on Taxiway J after crossing Runway 25's approach end. The hold short lines were faded; a great distance from the Runway's end and the crew did not know the meaning of the 33-APCH signage on Taxiway J.
