Narrative:
Onboard weather radar was not working properly with thunderstorms forecast for our intended route of flight. A return to the point of departure was requested and granted by center. Dispatch and maintenance were notified of our return.

Title: A CE560 crew reported the aircraft's weather radar did not return the known existing weather; so they returned to the departure airport for another aircraft with an operable radar.
Narrative: Onboard weather radar was not working properly with thunderstorms forecast for our intended route of flight. A return to the point of departure was requested and granted by Center. Dispatch and Maintenance were notified of our return.
