Narrative:
I am filing this report pertaining to aircraft X that was reassembled using the instruments/panel/radios from a recovered aircraft which is the same airframe as aircraft X.it has been brought to my attention; during the 2010 annual inspection; that I had not filled out the appropriate FAA-337s. I am also being told that I did not follow proper procedures by not having everything recertified before the installation. I was not aware that I could not determine serviceability of the units removed/installed in the aircraft. All evaluations and operational checks that were performed had no discrepancies noted at that time; or any to date. At no time after the installation did I have any concerns about the operational safety of the aircraft; otherwise it would have never been allowed to fly.at this time the aircraft is grounded until the situation can be resolved. The error of the 337s is my mistake; but my concern is that I unknowingly performed maintenance procedures incorrectly.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: An FBO Mechanic with an IA rating reports an Annual Inspection on Aircraft X could not be signed-off because appropriate FAA-337 forms had not been filed; the GPS equipment had not been certified and the instruments/panels/radios from a recovered aircraft had not been calibrated.
