Narrative:
While executing the prado 1 departure aircraft was turned to the right instead of the left. ATC advised and aircraft was turned back (30 degrees bank) to the left. Aircraft alert was issued 1000' below and 1 1/2 mi at our 12 O'clock position. Resumed the SID west/O further incidence. Captain had instructed a right turn after climb out and copilot followed west/O referring back to the SID. Supplemental information from acn 91652: a classic brain fart as we called it in the military. A better brief of the departure (we did brief it, but I failed to mention the direction of the turn I had in mind) would have revealed my error.
