Narrative:

While on final approach we had a 'trailing edge flap disagree' light come on with the associated EICAS. Requested vectors off of the final approach to a holding pattern; where we performed and completed the irregular procedure for the 'trailing edge flap disagree' light and extended the flaps to 20 using the alternate flap extension. We checked our landing performance as per the irregular checklist. We requested vectors to final and flew a 20 flap approach to a normal landing. We did not land over weight and completed all irregular and normal checklists.
