Narrative:

On final approach prior to the marker the captain called for flaps 20; at that time we got a trailing edge flap disagree light on EICAS and the forward panel. A go around was performed and all appropriate checklist were completed. We declared an emergency and then requested direct to a nearby airport. The flight attendants and passengers were notified of our situation and told that we were proceeding to the nearby airport. At the airport a successful flap 20 landing was made and then taxied to the gate completing the flight.

Title: A B757-200 flight crew declared an emergency and diverted to an airport with a longer runway when they experienced a flap disagree EICAS message upon selecting flaps to 20.
