Narrative:
On takeoff; passing 900-1;000 MSL; the left engine failed. I continued climb to 1;000 AGL; leveled off; cleaned up and declared an emergency. Tower told us to turn west. We climbed to 2;000; flew a downwind for and immediate landing. We ran the checklists and landed without any further problems. Crf checked us out and we taxied back to the gate.
