Narrative:

Upon initial climb after gear retraction received a gear disagree message and accompanying aural alerts. I assumed aircraft control and radios and called for the QRH. We accomplished the gear disagree up selected checklist and re-extended the gear. We notified ATC that we would be returning to land. We also notified the flight attendant; passengers; company and operations. After completion of the QRH we also completed the QRH for steering inoperative and wow [weight on wheels] input caution messages that we also displayed. We returned for a normal landing and elected to taxi to the gate. After landing and consulting with maintenance I was advised the lower portion of the nose landing gear was replaced during overnight maintenance and there was probably a seal that burst. The aircraft was taken back to the hanger and the flight was canceled.
