Narrative:
As we were departing we got a master warning message pertaining to the ailerons and simultaneously noticed a dip in the control wheel to the left. At that point the first officer called for abort. I retarded the thrust levers and took control of the aircraft; and asked him to notify the tower of the abort. Tower advised us to exit the runway at the high speed taxiway. I advised the first officer to speak with the passengers and flight attendants as well. We ran our checklists and asked ground control for clearance to taxi to the west hardstand. There I contacted dispatch and maintenance control. I advised them of the abort; and they told me to return to the gate and that they would be sending someone out. Maintenance met us at the gate; ran a few checks and decided to deplane the passengers; and asked me to write up the abort in the book; which I did.
