Narrative:
This flight was a boeing 777 aircraft. I was flight attendant #6. My jumpseat was at door 3R. Very shortly after takeoff; the relief pilot came back to look out the window of my exit. He asked if I had heard or seen anything unusual. I had not. He discreetly explained later; that an aircraft directly behind us witnessed debris flying off from our right tire. I did not notice any unusual sounds; or movements during takeoff. There was no trace or smell of smoke anywhere.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B777 tire shredded after takeoff but the landing hours later was uneventful except for the tire damage.
