Narrative:
Landed at early afternoon local. The weather was 32008KT 8;000 ts (thunderstorms) few 017CB sct 020 tcu (towering cumulus) broken (broken) 070 16/11 A3023. The approach was localizer 13R. We broke out around 1;300 ft and the visibility was good. There was a thick rain shower on the left runway moving toward the right runway. The runway isn't grooved. Brakes 3 were selected but was increased to maximum brakes when we asked for wind at 500 ft and we were told 32010 KTS; our max tail wind. Our weight was 274;000 pounds vref 142 KTS and I flew around 147 KTS. Touchdown was normal and the max braking firm. We cleared the runway and went to the gate. The crew chief came up and told us the right outboard aft brake was hot. Shortly after the fuse plug on the tire gave way. During the tire change damage was noticed on the brake assembly. The tire and brake assembly were changed and we returned without further complications.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B767-300 landed using maximum autobraking because of a tail wind and a wet ungrooved runway. After parking a melted fuse released and brake damage was discovered during the tire change.
