Narrative:
The end result was taking a wrong turn off victor onto foxtrot when we were cleared to turn on echo. This happened because I was discussing the approach the first officer just flew. I should have saved the conversation for after the flight. On about a 12 mile final; we hit just the slightest bit of wake turbulence; probably from the preceding 757 on final. The first officer decided to hand fly the rest of the approach above the glide slope; upwind of the localizer; and at vref +15. He did this all the way to the threshold. I started feeling uncomfortable about it inside the outer marker. We were high and fast. I said; 'we're not going to make the touchdown zone.' he immediately cut the power. I'm not sure if we made the TDZ or not. It was pretty close. If we did make the end of the TDZ; it's only because I said something crossing the threshold; prompting him to cut the power. We were given a clearance to taxi. He started the discussion; defensively trying to justify landing beyond the TDZ. We ended up getting caught up in the conversation and missing the turn.
