Narrative:
While departing the area to the southwest on the capital seven departure; potomac gave us what sounded like 'pauki' (the second fix listed in the FMS). I read back pauki and ATC gave us a frequency change with no correction to the fix. When I checked on with the next controller; I said that we were direct pauki; climbing to 11;000 and 250 KTS assigned. The controller told us to turn left to 180 (towards fluky) and asked who put us towards 'pauki'? I said the last controller did and I erased it from the FMS and headed to pauki. That's why when I checked on with you I specifically said that I was going to pauki. I wasn't used to that. And you caught it! Pauki and fluky sound alike.
