[We were] unable to retract nose landing gear after takeoff. Emergency declared with ATC. Number 1 flight attendant was given brief; passengers notified of situation; as well as company by radio. Landed overweight with normal sink rate. Maintenance inspection found nose gear pin installed. A pre-flight inspection had been performed by flight crew.

Title: An air carrier flight crew reported the nose gear would not retract after takeoff. They declared an emergency and returned to departure airport; where the nose gear pin was found still installed.
