Narrative:
We received an hydraulic B lo lvl ECAM message--intermittent at first but then came on steady. Followed aom procedure; including shutting off blue system pump which resulted in the need to perform a landing distance calculation for loss of blue system spoilers. Also had slower slat extension. We declared an emergency with center because of flight control involvement. No assistance was needed. Notified dispatch and maintenance control; briefed the flight attendants and landed uneventfully.
