Narrative:

The aircraft had numerous write ups including the captain efb inoperative and ads-B inoperative. My (first officer) efb was working and set up for the flight. During the approach brief I realized the date on the approach plate from the efb was out of date from the paper plate my captain was briefing from. After looking into the reason for the date differences; we realized that the efb data base was out of date. After landing and talking to maintenance control; the efb data base was MEL'd for our return flight.
