Narrative:
I was captain of air carrier flight on wed 8/88. Sea-tac tower cleared the flight 'on and hold' on runway 16R. While awaiting takeoff clearance a landing air carrier flight was cleared to land on 16R and had to go around as my airplane was on the runway. Sea-tac tower had forgotten we were on the runway. (I called the tower later and the operator conceded that a review of the tapes showed we were cleared 'on and hold'.)
