Narrative:
We were departing oak from runway 11. Our clearance was to turn right to a heading of 270 after departure. My first officer was the pilot flying. It was a non-eventful departure until we received a TCAS RA to climb. This occurred somewhere between 600 ft and 1;000 ft. We complied with the TCAS RA and eventually were clear of the conflict. ATC did not issue any traffic reports to us and did issue a traffic report to the conflicting aircraft; type da-40 at 1;400 ft-1;500 ft MSL. The rest of the flight was uneventful and upon termination; I called the ATC supervisor as well as my dispatch supervisor; and debriefed both parties. Data from ATC indicated that vertical separation was nil at 1.15 NM and .83 NM at 200 ft. This occurred in class C controlled airspace. ATC should not issue a departure clearance if a possibility of a conflict exists with other traffic.
