Narrative:
I cleared an SF34 to cross runway 26L at L-6. While doing a new ATIS; and amending a flight plan; a B737 called ready for takeoff runway 26L. I cleared the B737 for takeoff; but did not realize the SF34 had not yet crossed runway 26L. The asde-X alerted; I canceled the B737's take off clearance; but he elected to takeoff.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: MIA Controller reported a loss of separation event when clearing an aircraft for takeoff prior to a previous landing aircraft crossing the departure runway; listing other duties as possible distractions. Flight crew of B737 aircraft also reported and stated a continued takeoff was the safest course of action.
