Narrative:
This aircraft has serious avionics issues; and its IFR worthiness should be questioned in my opinion. I have had multiple occurrences of the glide slope being captured a dot high; the aircraft climbing to capture the glide slope; the aircraft with the autopilot engaged maintaining a half dot to a dot low on the glide slope; and sometimes maintaining a dot high. The aircraft also displays the CDI when in radio navigation navigating toward a localizer to be different on the first officer side than on the captain side. In fact several events of the localizer showing centered on the first officer or captain side and the aircraft is nearly transgressed in reality into another runway's approach area. Multiple times I have been a crew member on a flight that has had maintenance due on arrival because of avionics issues on this aircraft. If I recall correctly multiple times the aircraft has been taken out of service; and we swap into another to complete the day. Luckily I have only experienced these malfunctioning avionics issues in severe clear VFR until recently. I went into a mountainous airport; and the captain was flying the ILS to the runway. The localizer seemed to be erratic; and if I recall correctly so was the glide slope as it had been pretty much all day. Not something one wants to deal with on the ILS to this runway which has a big hill on the right side that seems to have its peak above the glide path. Also; multiple times I have been warned by crews getting off of this aircraft that I should be extra vigilant during the approach phase of flight due to quirks and other abnormalities the avionics of this aircraft had presented to them. I have decided to file a report about this aircraft as I could not; in good conscience; know people are at risk flying this aircraft which has had a seemingly overwhelming amount of avionics maintenance issues.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A CRJ200 First Officer reported an aircraft with seemingly continuous ILS localizer and glideslope anomalies which have not been sufficiently addressed even though many flight crews know of the problems and have reported them to maintenance.
