Narrative:
A flat spot with cords showing on a [beech 1900] #4 [main] tire required the tire to be replaced. The tire was replaced by contract maintenance in ZZZ and was returned to service at xa:28pm local time. The logbook sign-off said removed and replaced (right/right) #4 tire with beech task card. We were notified next day; after arriving in ZZZ1; that there was a problem with the maintenance that was performed the previous day with the tire. At this time the aircraft was grounded until proper repairs are made. Suggest [our company] take more time to audit contract maintenance before returning the aircraft to service.
