Narrative:
Got low hydraulic quantity EICAS message and light on overhead panel. [We] decided to divert. [There was a closer airport] but it had thunderstorms (trws) at field. [We] followed QRH. By landing all hydraulic fluid was gone in left system. Made uneventful landing and had fire trucks follow to gate to make sure no hydraulic fluid had leaked on brakes.
