Narrative:
The number one flight attendant called me in the back via interphone during boarding and advised she had a passenger who had mace that she was able to get through security. Flight attendant wanted to know if we should confiscate. I advised her to have the captain call for a ground security coordinator to let them take care of the situation. I was later advised passenger gave the mace to the flight attendant who then gave it to; I believe; a security personal. They asked if we were ok to let the passenger continue on and I said yes.
