Got left engine hydraulic ovht followed by left hydraulic engine pump EICAS. Contacted maintenance and dispatch. Left hydraulic fluid leak found. Diverted to suitable airport while completing left hydraulic system press checklist. Gear extended early; flaps to 20 early. Next; got power xfer unit status message. Landed overweight on longest runway. Cleared runway; shutdown; got towed to gate.

Title: A B757 had a left hydraulic system failure at FL360. The crew elected to divert for maintenance after consulting with Dispatch. After the gear and flaps are extended for landing a PTU status message was displayed. The aircraft was towed to the gate after clearing the runway due to no nose wheel steering.
Narrative: Got L ENG HYD OVHT followed by L HYD ENG PUMP EICAS. Contacted Maintenance and Dispatch. Left hydraulic fluid leak found. Diverted to suitable airport while completing L HYD SYS PRESS checklist. Gear extended early; flaps to 20 early. Next; got POWER XFER UNIT status message. Landed overweight on longest runway. Cleared runway; shutdown; got towed to gate.
