Narrative:
Received clearance of depart south on the hammi one departure aml. We were not given the jmysu transition so we did not enter it in the FMS per company policy. We were given a takeoff clearance to maintain visual with a departing airbus in front of us. At 500 ft AGL; we engaged the autopilot to follow the RNAV departure per company policy. We were loosing space between the airbus and could not get a call into ATC because of frequency congestion. Once at hammi; the FMS was out of places to go because we were not given the jmysu transition so it went to aml. As soon as I could get a word in; I informed ATC that we were going to aml as per our clearance and they gave us a heading and informed us that we were not supposed to go to aml. This is a new departure and we were not familiar with the procedure; but I feel ATC's clearance was very vague as well. It was early in the morning and we had a predawn wake up call so it was not the ideal conditions to be doing a new RNAV departure.

Title: An Air Carrier crew departed DCA on the HAMMI ONE RNAV Departure but were uncertain about their routing after HAMMI because the preflight clearance did not contain the JMYSU transition and so incorrectly the FMS transitioned direct AML.
